VMS Communications has been identified by PVBLIC Foundation for Partnerships as a respected and forward-thinking leader in its field, and consequently chosen among other representatives of prominent media companies to attend the 3rd Annual Media for Social Impact Summit, an exclusive invitation-only event which took place earlier this summer to highlight the power of media to drive social change.
The summit, held at the United Nations Headquarters in NYC, showcases innovative social campaigns and movements through keynotes, interviews, case studies and roundtables and provides a unique opportunity for delegates to network and learn from the brightest minds in media, and build lasting partnerships that further social progress.
This year’s program sought to inspire new campaigns and commitments around pressing global issues, with a special focus on the Sustainable Development Goals and social innovation in media space. This set of 17 goals, a UN initiative adopted by countries on September 25th, 2015, will mobilize efforts to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda. Each goal has specific targets to be achieved over the next 15 years and in order for the goals to be reached, everyone needs to do their part: governments, the private sector, civil society and individual citizens.
